I finally finished some more hats for the homeless! In my book, A Looming Lady, Kate is a young homeless woman who inherits a home. She makes hats, among other things, for people she knows, homeless or not. Hats are warm and can be personalized. Try making some. You can loom them, like Kate, very quickly!
When you make a hat there is a gap at the top. What can you do to manage it? One choice is a pompom. Seam a pompom to the top! The other option is to sew over the hole with the final tail. Sew back and forth, across, 3 times. Then sew up and down! Secure your yarn and the gap is covered.
