The bowtie makes a nose and whiskers. Embroider the eyes to make a baby animal hat! According to most charts this should fit a 2-3 pound preemie. I made it with 2 strands of soft baby yarn, a 24 peg loom, loom hook, and yarn needle. Also, with one arm, due to a broken right wrist. I am a rightie.... Double e- wrap all 24 pegs. knit 10 rounds. Round 11: knit 6, slip stitch next 7 stitches by lifting each stitch off the peg and laying the yarn on the inside between the work and the peg and then replacing the stitch back onto the peg. Knit to end of round. round 12 : knit around. Rounds 13 through 14: repeat round 11 and 12. Round 15: knit 9 , lift the loops off peg 10 , reach down and pull up slipped stitches from rounds 11 and 13, place them on peg 10, replace original loops, lay working yarn below all loops, Purl by reaching down through all the loops to the working yarn and pulling it up to create a loop to place onto peg 10. knit to end of round. Rounds 16 through 19: knit. After completing round 19, move all the odd stitches (one, 3, 5, 7, etc ) to the next peg. Knit the lower stitches over the top stitches . Round 20 : Knit off all stitches. Sew top of hat closed. Embroider eyes. Weave in all threads.
