Looming Lady Blog
From the Authors Workbench. This is what I’ve been working on during the last week of 2015.
A dog sweater for my dog Katie. Isn’t she adorable in it? Of course, I think she’s adorable without it! I used a Martha Stewart loom, configured round with 52 pegs, a loom hook and less than a skein of yarn. I flat knit for 5 rounds, then turned to knit stitch for 10 rounds. Round 20, knit10 stitches, knit off 6 stitches, knit 6 stitches, turned, knit back 6 stitches, turned and knit the 6 stitches again, knit off 6 stitches, then I knit around. Round 21, knit all around, double e-wrapping the empty pegs along the way. Knit 10 rounds. Round 32knit off the first 26 stitches, knit to the end of the row, turned. 26 stitches on the loom. I knit 10 rows. Then I switched to the rib stitch, knit 3, purl 1. Rows 43 - 53, knit 3, purl 1 across. Knit off all stitches. This sweater is only about 8 inches long and 12 inches across. Next time I will add 10 -12 rounds to make it longer.
